Writers at Woody Point Opening Night Concert - Jeremy Dutcher and Charm of Finches

We can't keep the secret any longer! We're so excited to begin announcing our festival line-up, starting with our opening concerts.

This year's Writers at Woody Point festival is happening from August 20-25 and we'll kick it all off with an incredible show featuring Jeremy Dutcher and special guests Charm of Finches.

Jeremy Dutcher is returning to Woody Point this year with their trio. It promises to be an evening of wondrous music in the intimate setting of the Woody Point Heritage Theatre.

Jeremy Dutcher is a two-spirit song carrier, composer, activist, ethnomusicologist and member of Tobique First Nation in Eastern Canada. Their sophomore record "Motewolonuwok", released in 2023, is nominated for Adult Alternative Album of the Year at this year's Juno Awards. They won the 2018 Polaris Prize and a 2019 Juno Award for their first album Wolastoqiyik Lintuwakonawa.

Jeremy will be joined by Charm of Finches, a folk-pop duo of sisters from Melbourne, Australia. They'll bring us their uniquely nostalgic yet electrifying folk-pop sound. It won't be Mabel and Ivy's first time in Woody Point - they charmed us and many others here last fall at the Contact East conference. We know that you'll love them as much as we do!

Stay tuned as we reveal the rest of our lineup over the next few weeks.
