Comedy at Woody Point
Our pal Steve Patterson sent along this note to let you know all about this year's Comedy at Woody Point 2026:
Hello friends of Comedy at Woody Point! I truly can't wait to get back this year for a very special 11th Annual COMEDY AT WOODY POINT!
This year's lineup includes an eclectic, award-winning collection of my comedy friends with a deep connection to East Coast Canadian comedy — joined by the incredible Louis McDonald Trio as our musical guests for both nights.
Friday night could be dubbed: This Show Has 22 Thousand Laughs as we welcome two of the stars of the current cast of "This Hour Has 22 Minutes": Stacey McGunnigle and Chris Wilson. You've seen their award-winning work in video form both on CBC and in extremely popular online clips. Chris' Pierre Poilievre and Justin Trudeau impressions in particular are uncanny and hilarious. And Stacey's depictions of American White House correspondent Karoline Leavitt among others have left international audiences clamouring for more. Together, Stacey and Chris are sure to bring the house down! And they'll have help from former This Hour Head writer and recently crowned Juno Award 2026 winner for his album "Dragonflies", Adam Christie. Adam has been a rising star in Canadian comedy for some time now, and he really is at the peak of his powers — with honest depictions of seriously challenging life situations that lead into surreal hilarity.
Saturday night, we welcome Adam back for another set of standup, joined by Woody Point favourite James Mullinger! Those who attended James' last appearance a few years ago will remember the giddy, contagious energy he brings to the stage — which has only gotten even giddier since he recently recorded a new comedy album at the sold-out Rebecca Cohn Auditorium in Halifax. He's also officially become a Canadian citizen, so he truly is one of ours now.
Here's to seeing you on one or BOTH nights of Comedy at Woody Point for what promises to be an unforgettable weekend of award-winning laughter! (and me)
