Our hosts

It’s our great pleasure to introduce the hosts of the 23rd Writers at Woody Point.

Angela Antle first came to Woody Point as a journalist covering the festival for CBC radio. She is also an artist, a PhD candidate, an award-winning novelist (!), and of course the host of our popular Coffee With….. series of on-stage conversations.

We are so happy to welcome Tom Power back to Woody Point following a one-year hiatus while he enjoyed the early days of parenthood. Tom is the host of Q on CBC Radio and the driving force behind one of our favourite bands, the Dardanelles.

Tom will be hosting our Friday and Saturday night shows, will interview Mark Critch and Sandy Morris on Friday afternoon, and will once again preside over the Traditional (and not so traditional…) Music Session on Friday night.

Elamin Abdelmahmoud debuted at the festival a couple of years back, and from that very first karaoke night at the Legion immediately became part of the family. He is an author and the host of Commotion on CBC Radio. Elamin is going to be a busy guy during festival week, hosting on Thursday and Sunday nights and interviewing Adrian Sutherland and Miriam Toews.
